 Statement of Faith

 

As born again believers in Jesus Christ, We have entered a covenant relationship with one another as one body without denominational titles.  We believe the divinely inspired scriptures command us to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the world.

 

 

 

Inspiration of Scripture

 

L.G.C.T. believe the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is inspired and revealed by God, useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that men and women may be throughly equipped for every good work. (2 Tim. 3:16)

 

 

 

The Holy Trinity

 

We believe there is one God, revealed in three persons; God the Father, God the

Son- Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit.

- 1 John 5

 

 

 

The Deity of Jesus Christ

 

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ: His virgin birth, sinless life, recorded miracles, vicarious atonement, bodily resurrection, ascension, and future return to earth where He will rule and reign in power and glory a thousand years.

 

 

 

The Five-Fold Ministry

 

We believe in the ministry gifts of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. We believe these ministries are ordained by God for the building up, maturning, and equipping of the body of saints. (Eph. 4:11-13)

 

 

Repentance and Salvation

 

We believe the only means of salvation is repentance of sin and faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. (Eph. 1:7, 1 John 1:7-9, Luke 13:3) We believe that all who call upon the name of Jesus Christ in faith, believing that God raised Him from the dead, shall be saved.  We believe Jesus has gone to prepare a place in heaven for all believers.

(Rom. 10:9, John 14:1-4) We believe all who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are lost and separated from God.

(Rom. 3:23, John 3:16-18)

 

 

 

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

 

We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience subsequent to the baptism of salvation.  The Holy Spirit empowers the believer to witness and to do the works of Jesus Christ.  This baptism is available to all who asks and receive by faith.

(Acts 1:8, 2:4, Heb. 2:4)

 

 

 

 

 

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

 

We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in 1 Corinthians 12:8-11: word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues.

 

 

 

 

 

Divine Healing

 

We believe divine healing was provided by the stripes and vicarious atonement of Jesus Christ.

(Isa. 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24, Matt. 8:16-17,

James 5:14-16)

 

 

ORDINANCES OF L.G.C.T

 

 

 

Baptism by water

 

We believe in the water baptism by immersion in the name of God the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19)

 

(It 's not a requirement  to be baptized a second time in order to join the church.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Lord's Supper

(Communion)

 

We believe in the ordinance of the Lord's Supper, and will regularly observe it as enjoined by the scriptures.

(Luke 22:19-20;

1 Cor. 11:23-26)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Foot Washing

 

We believe in the act of foot washing, which denotes servant hood.  It is ordained by Jesus Christ in John 13:14-17.
